Yosemite Peak Access Reservation System 2023

We are sorry to inform you that Yosemite National Park has re-instituted a reservation system for Peak Season, making it confusing and difficult for visitors. You must understand these rules and plan your visit accordingly.

Horsetail Fall Event: Reservations are required to enter Yosemite on Saturdays and Sundays, including the holiday Monday beginning February 10th through February 25th, 2024. YOU MUST OBTAIN A RESERVATION IF YOU PLAN TO ENTER ON: February 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 2024.

Reservations will be required on select days beginning April 13 and ending October 27, during peak hours from 5:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • From April 13 - June 30, reservations are required on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays (May 27, June 19)
  • From July 1 - August 16, reservations are required EVERY DAY - seven (7) days a week.
  • From August 17 - October 27, reservations are required on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays (September 2 and October 14)

Most reservations for all dates from April 13 - October 27 will be available on Recreation.gov on January 5 at 8:00 AM Pacific time. Additional reservations will be available seven days before the arrival date on Recreation.gov.

Additional reservations will be available seven days before the arrival date (e.g., make a reservation for an arrival date of October 27 or October 20). Reservations available one week in advance will be a combination of reservations valid for full days or reservations valid for arrival only in the afternoons. Driving through the park will also require a reservation if entering between 5 am and 4 pm.

Reservations
Reservations are available each day at 8 am Pacific time. Reservations are taken almost immediately. Be sure to have a Recreation.gov account and be logged in and ready to get a reservation promptly at 8 am Pacific time.

There is a non-refundable reservation fee of $2 (this does not include the $35-per-car park entrance fee).

Each user can make one reservation for each three-day period. For example, if a user makes a reservation for a Friday arrival (valid Friday through Sunday), the user won't be able to make a second reservation for an arrival that Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The reservation holder must be in the arriving vehicle and show a photo ID at the entrance station.

There are two reservation types: Full Day (covers entry between 5 am - 4 pm, and Half Day (covers entry between noon - 4 pm).

Peak-hours reservations are valid for three consecutive days (including arrival date).

If you don't have computer access, you can call Recreation.gov at (877) 444-6777 to make a reservation.
